Non-Profits Need a Consultant

Successful grants, fund-raising and board development is a result of a good relationship between the consultant and its' client. A consultant must have a great understanding of the clients non-profit organization and the services it provides.

A non-profit must have a good financial base, and this is because funders (foundations, etc.) insist on a true financial reporting to make sure good money will be coming to a financially sound non-profit business. Look at it as a business plan that you would present to your bank a good one gets you the loan.

Listen to your consultant, remember too that few if any grant-writing consultants or companies are allowed to do commission work. MOST funders disallow that direct expense in the budget of the application. REMEMBER too, the consultants success is due to the good structure of your non-profit which includes a working board of directors, a sound financial picture. Please do a five-year plan and follow it. These funds enable our non-profit to do our our successful fund-raising project " Law Enforcement Calendars" which raised $1000's of dollars to help start Triad's Emergency Funds for Seniors in Crisis project.
